AGD Quilt

I just completed an Anita Goodesign quilt using the Urban Angles designs in the Beautiful Blocks and Borders set (my very first AGD quilt).  Turned out pretty nice, if I may say so myself.  There was a learning curve on this one, mostly at the end, when I put it all together.  The stitch in the ditch should have been done with the color of the top fabric on top and the color of the bottom fabric on bottom (maroon on top and medium gray on bottom).  I elected to do all medium gray for both top and bottom.  Other than that, I think it turned out well.  The final design is about 50x60 inches.  There's a close-up below, so you can see the detail.

A New Year

I'm really lackadaisical about posting.  This year I'm going to try harder.  I created a lot last year and will be writing about it as well as new things I'm creating this year.

Just finished a scarf and hat set for myself using my favorite colors and a 100% merino wool yarn.  Had planned to wear them downtown this morning (completed the hat late last night just for today) but I cancelled due to snow.  And, we're due home by 4:30 to babysit a grandson!  I was concerned we might not make it home in time; crazy DC drivers!

Success with the mug rugs

I had success with the mug rugs.  So much so, that I created three more of them (the first one that went bad doesn't count).  Same fivestarfonts design.  I used all three golf designs from my 6d software.

When Mug Rugs Go Bad

I'm trying to make a mug rug for my Dad and it puckered.  I'm using the FiveStarFonts ITH design and a golfer from my 6d software.  I'm going to iron on a fusible interfacing on the back of the tan fabric and hope that works.  I'll post the new one when done.

I designed my very first quilt

I've made quilts before but always using someone else's design.  I saw the designsbyjuju Kokeshi Dolls and it called to me.  I ordered the fabric from Amazon from someplace in Hawaii.  This one is for my oldest granddaughter.

Mug Rug

As soon as I saw a mug rug, I knew I had to make one.  FiveStarFonts has an easy one.  I used some old material I inherited from my MIL.  This was for my spouse.

Dad's Marine Corps Emblem Golf Towel

My Dad is an avid golfer and a retired Marine.  I used a dark green velour golf towel purchased on Amazon and the Marine Corps logo purchased from embroiderydesigns.com

His name over the logo was the easiest part of all and was created on the 6d embroidery software.
